PDFLyra is a PDF reader and toolkit for Android. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
PDFLyra keeps, only on your phone and only inside the app: a list of recent and favourite files, bookmarks, saved signatures, your settings, the search index above, the text read from scanned PDFs (so they can be selected without reading them again), and counters that limit how often full-screen ads appear (counts and times only). When you open a PDF from another app that only lends it for a moment (for example WhatsApp or an e-mail app), PDFLyra keeps a private copy inside the app so you can open it again later from Recent. Nobody else can see these copies. A copy that is not opened for 30 days is deleted by itself, and Settings > Storage > Copies of files from other apps deletes them all at once. Files you choose from your phone's own storage are not copied. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. We cannot see any of it.
PDFLyra has no account or sign-up, and we do not use our own analytics or tracking.
PDFLyra is free and shows ads from Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's ads software on your phone collects and shares with Google:
This data is encrypted in transit. The ads never receive your documents or their contents. Google's use of this data is described in Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads, or similar).
form before any ad is requested. You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings > Ads privacy options.
Text recognition uses Google ML Kit on your phone. ML Kit may send Google technical usage information — for example the device model, Android version, app version, performance numbers, error codes and a per-installation identifier — for diagnostics and usage statistics. It does not send your pictures, documents or recognised text. Details: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure .
PDFLyra does not ask for your contacts, location, microphone, phone or broad access to all your files.
PDFLyra is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your documents never leave your phone because of PDFLyra. Password protection uses AES-256 encryption. No method is perfect; please keep your own backups of important files.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
